“Research to recycle: the Life Cycle of EV Batteries” seminar was hold by Chen Tech Electric (CTE) on Oct. 14th, 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan. The seminar aimed to investigate in the latest EV batteries testing technologies, and also share CTE’s updated research results on State of Health (SOH) Evaluation.

Subject and Speaker Information

  1. High Power EV Battery Pack Test Solution by Mr. Michael Reith, the Sales Manager at Gustav Klein GmbH & Co KG (GK)
    GK is a well-known power supply manufacturer in Germany since 1948. Mr. Reith introduced the high power battery test solution collaborated between GK and CTE, and also shared GK’s experiences in working with major European EV manufacturers, including John Deere, Porsche, Ferrari, and BMW.
  2. High Power EV Battery Pack Test Solution by Mr. Curtis Lin, the Product Manager at Chen Tech Electric
    Mr. Lin’s presentation focused mostly on CTE product application on EV battery test, including multiple international battery test standard integration, BMS communication, cell voltage and temperature measurement, and 3rd party chamber control.
  3. International Standards of Used EV Batteries Test by Mr. Benjamin Chen, the Business Development Manager at UL Taiwan
    UL Taiwan is currently working on developing standards for used EV battery evaluation. Mr. Chen introduced the existing standards and regulations for battery testing as well as issues when using used EV battery in 2nd Life applications.
  4. CTE’s State of Health(SOH) Evaluation Solution, Mr. YM Huang, Research Scientist at Chen Tech Electric
    CTE has been putting lots of efforts on used EV battery SOH research, including creating battery aging model, testing used batteries, and estimating remaining life of used batteries. Mr. Huang shared the updated research results, and also CTE’s experience in collaborating with EV companies in repurposing their EV batteries.
